Well, let me introduce myself first, I’m Santeri “SHU” Valkeejärvi. I started online gaming 2006 fall. I started as heavy public cs 1.6 gamer, after I realize that counter strike 1.6 was shit game. Then I bought Counter Strike: Source and played publics like six months. Then I found 5v5 gameform. (And also the little ones). I started playing many of clanbase matches in a day. For a while I played just with my friends and then turned to serious clanbase gaming! With SAmZ and couple of my irl friends we started our serious-clanbase journey. Nowdays when I’m back in online gaming (thx to JackieBoy), I’m playing medic in RCTIC team fortress 2 team.

I’ll have to take little break in July, because of family reasons, so i’m not playing so much then.

When robo wrote blog about our team I was suprised that iso-ville was so novelist! I thought now would be perfect time to make some updates.

After Solid Mojo Lan, our team spirit went very high, because we have seen each other in IRL, except zermu who was too poor to come there. Then we started to practice really hard, and we had some great experience. We have even make our way to division 5 in etf2l. I’m happy with that, because in finnish tf2 scene thinks we are so shitty that we can’t even win a single game in div6. (And we’re raising whole time!)

When Football World Cup 2010 started we haven’t played so much, because of TucE and JackieBoy. They are watching every match everyday.

So, my mainclass is medic in tf2, and those who don’t know what is tf2, I’m the healer of team. I started tf2 as scout (yes I was better than Jackieboy), because Jack told me that scout was easiest class, but then due the player changes I decided to play as medic. (I suprised that zermu let me play medic!) We have very solid team, and everybody have always fun while we are playing together.

TucE and Lil are our team shiny boys, but I think TucE is our in-game leader. At Solid Mojo we tried to get TucE scream to cs:s team, but no hope. Lil is just normal dude from Espoo.

Robo aka Iso-ville and Jackieboy are our team’s teddybears. They have funniest jokes in eSports scene, and always making me laugh.

Zermu is our killer. First zermu was a quite in mumble, but after knowing us, he have started to talk pretty much. Somebody in finnish tf2 scene thinks that zermu was fakenicked Dignitas/Darn! So he frags a lot.

Now I have started my blogger career, hope you liked my text.

Hi y’all!

My name is Jack “JackieBoy” Tarvajärvi and I’m the captain of RCTIC.TF2. SaMZ asked me to write a blogpost about our team and first i was like: “Oh damn, that’s easy!”. But when the deadline was getting closer, I started to panic. I didn’t actually know what to write about. So because this is the second blogpost from our team and also there was a “free weekend” in TF2 I decided to write about TF2 configs and settings. So you can get more in to the game!

I hope many of you have used the great opportunity to buy TF2 from Steam -50% off(10€). So let’s get in to some of the settings you may like to change to get your game performing better and start PWNING!

Basic info:
When you are playing TF2 publics your FPS might be crappy and your choke is high. In my opinion TF2 isn’t designed for publics. It performs better in a 6on6 enviroment. So with these tips Your game will run smoothly playing TF2 in or out of public servers.

First step: FPS
I hope many of you have been playing games before and are used to playing with good FPS. To check your settings type “cl_showfps 1″ (without the commas”) to your console. For further tests just use “net_graph 1″. If you think you have good FPS don’t change anything if you don’t like to. I’ll link some configs that will increase your FPS or they will increase your quality of graphics. Depending on what you like.

http://fakkelbrigade.eu/chris/configs/

I personally use Chris’ configs because they have the highest performance. The Quality configs are REALLY good if you have beast computer. All the instructions for the configs you can find from that link. Chris plays medic so he also has a custom made Medic.cfg there that you should try.

Second step: “Network”
Many players have their network settings wrong. They’re whining about warping, lag etc… With these settings you will have a smooth game. (Put them into your autoexec.cfg if your using Chris’ configs just put these settings to the bottom. You can autoexec.cfg from \Steam\steamapps\YOURNICKNAME\team fortress 2\tf\cfg)

If you have a good internet connection use these ones:
cl_cmdrate “67″
cl_interp “0.0152″
cl_interp_ratio “1″
cl_lagcompensation “1″
cl_pred_optimize “2″
cl_smooth “0″
cl_smoothtime “0.01″
cl_updaterate “67″
rate “60000″

If you have a bad internet connection try these:
cl_cmdrate “40″
cl_interp “0.025″
cl_interp_ratio “1″
cl_lagcompensation “1″
cl_pred_optimize “2″
cl_smooth “0″
cl_smoothtime “0.01″
cl_updaterate “40″
rate “35000″

Third step: “HUD”
Many players are using the Default HUD by Valve. There has been many HUDs before but they all stopped updating. There are couple of HUDs at the moment that are being updated. Here’s one.

Community HUD:
http://code.google.com/p/communitytf2hud/
I use this one personally because they update it. If you want to try it out just unrar the folders to \Steam\steamapps\YOURNICKNAME\team fortress 2\tf\.

m0re HUD:
http://m0re.nocrits.com/index.php?site=files&cat=3
For nostalgy maybe the best HUD ever. (No longer being updated)

Fourth step: “View”
Many of these settings you can adjust from the in-game menu but it’s easier to change by typing them to your console. (You can apply your console by Right Clicking TF2 from the Steam games list and choosing Properties –> Set Launch Options –> Type: -console –> Ok) They all are usefull commands to change your gameplay.

fov_desired 90 = The most important setting. Makes your “view” bigger.
viewmodel_fov = Play with this one, choose the most comfortable setting (default 54).
r_drawviewmodel 1 = Try it out (default 0).
cl_autoreload 1 = Very usefull.

Well, I guess this is it! If I missed something just write it to the comments below and maybe I’ll bring it up sometime? =)

Wassup people! This is my first blog post, so don’t judge me too hard.

I’ll introduce myself first, I’m 18 years old dude from Rauma. I’ve been playing a few games competitive before picking up TF2, I started with Counter-Strike 1.6 which I played with my irl friends and after a while I moved to CS:S which I didn’t play for too long, cause I fell in love with DotA which I played for kinda long as a tourney player, but it ended when I got kicked out of team I was playing in. These days I play under the RCTIC flag a game called tf2 as a soldier.

So, now I’ll introduce the people on my team, which I have come know so well in these past weeks, and the loving RCTIC organization.

JackieBoy is our teams leader and very lovable person to be playing with. Always happy and cheerful which is one of the reason I like to play with these guys

shu a.k.a sanhu is the medic of our team, he was a scout first but due to player changes. He switched to medic class and been doing fine and is getting better and better after every game.

TucE in the other hand is our team Demoman. He is cute that’s all I have to say about him. But in the more serious way, I couldn’t have a funnier guy in our team and it’s plus that he is cute, and occasionally he kills people.

zermu is my soldier partner, don’t have nothing much to say about him, he just never talks and kills people, and occasionally listens to HIM, because he is a graverobber or somekinda of madman.

Lille is our newest addition to our team because of Yerted’s leave from our team, we have been playing with him few weeks and all I can still say that he know how to shoot and is very likable person. I’ll know more of him when I meet him up on this week end solid mojo lan.

Now for the end I got few words to say about solid mojo which our team won’t be playing on but will be on there to have fun and hanging around with the other RCTIC members which there will be over 20 and that’s kinda a lot of people attending one LAN! Personally I am excited about the fact that I get to meet my team members irl, expect for zermu he is too poor to come Helsinki and hang around with us, I’m sorry for him. Wanted to meet him too, but nothing always goes like it should.

I’ll end up my post now, so I wont bore you with this anymore. But I guess you are, have to check mine posts later on!
