June 15th, 2010

The Call of Duty 4 team we brought in a bit over one month ago have faced some changes. First off, soon after Gaming.fi CoD4 Challenge [flag fi] Miikka “micTAO” Lappi was removed from team and [flag fi] Jalmari “gnarly” Hakunti was brought in to replace him. Now it’s again time for someone to step down from main lineup and make room for someone.

June 2nd, 2010

A little over one week ago we released our first videoblog on what we mentioned that now we’re gonna get things rolling! Within two last weeks we have held a Day of Defeat: Source NightCup with good success and we have also started to code our upcoming website. But as a big surprise for our organization, after about one year break our old graphics artist, Jan-Erik “furri” Mattsson has done a comeback. Jan-Erik didn’t hesitate to get back in business and he has already done some awesome graphics. As result we are proud to present one of our cute mascots, Jacky!

Dude, where’s my prize money?

May 30th, 2010

On Friday I took a look a look at what kind of feedback people gives about Solid Mojo, and I wasn’t the only one. The whole The Group’s irc-channel was full of big guys whining about small things. The whole episode started one single email which the head guy behind Solid Mojo had sent to gamers in the event which contained the following snap.

We was excepting such a bad development already about one week before event and that’s when we informed all that we can’t guarantee all the prizemoney. In the current situation our organization hasn’t got enough of money to pay any of prize moneys.

This was what we already excepted before the event itself. There was maximum of over 1000 computer seats and under 300 of them was sold and including all the spectators, organizers didn’t receive enough of money to cover all costs caused by event. But still players were excepting that the prizemoneys would have been payed.

I don’t doubt that there wouldn’t be anything to fix with covering all the costs of event. A computer seat to event was worth of 45 euros. Taking part in NON-BYOC tournament was worth of 25 euros. Most of all moneys organizers got was payed by visitors and most of them wasn’t even interested about these “pro” tournaments, atleast I bet so.

In NON-BYOC tournaments the competitors had computers already waiting by the venue and the entry wasn’t that expensive for them even tho there was ment to be good prizes in those tournaments. The prizes was much smaller for them who had a computer seat and taking part in some tournament.

The whole team from In7 eSports got my respect as they took a part in amateur competitions from what the prizes was high enough to cover the costs of event and to get some cheap pizzas from some local restaurant.

Email contained also this snap:

Organization is taking warrantles credit to pay entry fees back (25 e / person) to people who won some prizemoney.

Already the fact that the organization behind the event, The Group, including all it’s members whom was arranging this event, are working as full volunteer, is missed by most of people. They are taking financial risks to offer some tournaments to these whining kids. Players themselves aren’t feeling any sympathy to organizers and they aren’t even interested. The only thing what the organizers are receiving is a lot of bad feedback. And this a good example to think why different companies aren’t interested in sponsoring Finnish eSports-scene.

In our country’s gaming-scene it’s nothing to do with amount of people who would do their best to get even better tournaments for gamers. Our scene’s terrible situation is caused by selfish gamers themselves, whom couldn’t even think all needed things or think things from some others position.

Is there anyone left who remembers the times when games was played just for passion? It don’t have to be always about money.

Our DoD:S team’s player, zg, in zP!’s European Player Rankings

May 27th, 2010

Two days ago zeroPoint! Gaming announced list of European Clan Rankings for this month. Yesterday was turn for Player Rankings!

zP! gathered total of three ranking lists which are rifles, heavies and snipers. Each category has their own point system and all teams who were in European Clan Rankings were asked for their opinions which means total of 11 team got their opinion said. Unfortunately only [flag fi] zg from our DoD:S team managed to get enough of votes to make it to top list and in his case the list is snipers. zg is actually drawing first placement of sniper list with [flag de] micHii from zeroPoint!, with both having 40 points.

Back in business!

May 25th, 2010

Back in business!

It’s been about six months since I was working active for RCTIC and that’s really long time. Now I am planning on making a comeback even more motivated. And as for start for my first blog I’ll introduce myself.

Who is Jere “LeLE” Alanen?
So, my name is Jera Alanen and I’m 18 yeard old and my nick in the world of internet is LeLE. I’m living in Finland’s East side in city of Joensuu. Few weeks ago I decided to move into my own department in downtown of Joensuu with my girlfriend so feel free to come by and let’s drink some coffee! I’m studying in technical college on building line and my last year is starting on the upcoming Fall. For all who are thinking about same line than Im studying I give an advice; go to some other line even tho you’d like doing some building job as the job isn’t the best when thinks about the payments we get… But that’s enough about me for now, let’s move on!

LeLE + RCTIC = ?
So, how am I compared to RCTIC? I was forming this great Finnish eSports organization back in 2008 with Toni, Joonas and some other great dudes after we decided to part ways with CMAX.gg. We were aiming on forming an organization what supports motivated and upcoming talents in Finnish scene so they could get more well-known in the scene of eSports. All stuff was going great back then even we had some problems with couple of teams which we however got solved out and after all things started to roll great and are still rolling really well! I’d like to thank all the players and members of our management for their own output for this organization. Especially big thanks goes to SaMZ and PassengeR who have done really great job and got our name more well-known and they’ve even got nice deals done with Ulti-mat and Pelaajan Valinta!
But then back to my period of inactivity. I decided to step down for a while due to irl commitments (work, school and so on). But so, now I am getting back into the business even more motivated and feeling really great! I’m really willing to keep this organization up with my mates and achieve our goal which is to get our players more well-known and to the top level! I promise that RCTIC is coming and going to great success within upcoming years!

How about my gaming then?
Yeah, some people knows that I used to play active on teams few years ago. I started gaming quite young but interest towards FPS games rised up at age of 11-12 when we got Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam. That’s when I started gaming and for first time I started playing in teams when Battlefield 2 was released and we were doing quite okey back then we were like little boys. I have also played Call of Duty 4 but I didn’t like it so I decided to end my career with playing in teams and nowadays I don’t play much of games anymore. Only a little of Battlefield 2 when I visit by my parents as this i-net connection my girlfriend has on her laptop isn’t good for gaming.

That’s it for now. I will be writing more blogs sooner or later! But I’m back with strenght of 110% and I promise that we’ll be doing some great things with dudes in the future!

Peace for now, Jere!

Friday with SaMZ

May 25th, 2010

I have had some problems with publishing photos for long time now. Reasons behind this are that I am too hard on myself, I’m excepting too much from them. But now i’m always trying to publish some amount of photos from events/trips relating to our organization. Just to make sure that i can publish photos easier in future.

By last Friday I once again headed over to Helsinki to discuss about all the stuff with Sami. And on this weekend we managed to make our first videoblog where we were explaining a bit about our organizations situation at the moment. By that day we also decided to meet one of our sponsors and after that we decided to play some minigolf.

Lawn mower racer strikes again

May 23rd, 2010

Hello again peeps! It has been a while since my last blogpost so I decided to make another one which I was supposed to make so many times in the past few days but I always forget it.. I don’t have anything wise to say this time so I just write some bullshit here. :)

I didn’t make it to show up at Solid Mojo as if I was pretty sure that I would have come. But I’m not gonna start to speak about that because the results weren’t really that great and everyone knows about them so I’ll just say that heads up and aim to the future! I’m not sure but I think RCTIC’s next event will be Assembly Summer 2010 and I WILL be there.

I haven’t been so much in the internetz these days because there has been pretty much going on. My second year at high school is starting to reach its end and there’s too much to do…because I’m too lazy of course. Right after that I start off my summerjob which includes pretty much just lawn mower racing. But at the moment I’m in trouble: my girlfriends birthday is on the day after tomorrow and I have no clue what to buy for her.. Tomorrow I gotta find my romantic self (lol wut?) and do something about it. I hope she isn’t reading this.. :D

That’s all for now.. Not gonna force myself to write something anymore. Catch ya’ll later!
