ESPC #2 2010: Second day

September 19th, 2010

Sunday: a great day for double-elimination brackets. Our CS:S team made it through the group stage by taking two important victories against MIPC Organisation & Team Ulti-mat. At bracket our first opponent was team Firstfrag.

Firstfrag played well on de_dust2 and managed to defeat RCTIC by score 16:8. After first winner bracket games had interesting chapter going on. CKRAS, eXelon, RCTIC and Menace.fi had all lost their matches and were eliminated to losers bracket. This raised lots of conversation in esports scene over the Europe but it’s a good thing to have some variety to Finnish esports scene

A small update from WCG qualifiers

July 17th, 2010

Finnish WCG qualifiers are now over for our squad’s part after few tight matches and now I can give some updates from SaMZ’s computer. So more or less heres a few words about todays tournament.

The results were already kind of predicted since FOOZE, the in-game leader of the team, had to pass this event because of his work issues. The one replacing him was copz, so with a few week break from gaming and mix team it is not easy to get a good ripple. In the end we hit the road just to meet the other players and in the same time you get to enjoy a moment of the summer in Helsinki. In its entirety the tournament went on with pretty good vibes though the atmosphere in the venue was kinda insipid.

The results:

RCTIC eSports [9-16] Infernal Gamers
RCTIC eSports [7-16] munkka

The line-up in the tournament:

Henri “tErppa” Väyrynen
Otto “defcon” Takala
Harri “Qad” Savunen
Dino “Dezbi” Singh
Niko “c0pz” Takala

As normally, we got a bunch of pictures and videos on a memory stick from the event but I’m too tired to make a fuss about them today. The plan of the evening would be to go to the beach with atleast SaMZ and possibly Debz and defcon to enjoy the sun and talk about the future. Many have also been hoping for a new video blog so we try to record a few words on the beach. So the organization is little by little rising its head and in the same time we get to prepare for Assembly Summer ’10 which is only under three weeks away!

Now I’m starting to get ready to go to the beach so see you next time and you too spend a nice Saturday evening!

Finnish WCG qualifiers tomorrow!

July 17th, 2010

It’s been quiet around organisation for past two months. People just don’t have time to put effort that much for the organisation during summer vacations and with some work issues. It’s a fact that everybody here in Finland lack motivation for eSports at summer so maybe it’s not just me who doesn’t do anything around gaming.

As you can see, there’s no big news about tournaments and line-up changes in our website  and I’m sad to say that few of our players have left RCTIC because they were going to play at different clan or just quit gaming because of personal reasons. No-one just knows what our teams are going to do with those situations and that’s why we don’t know how things with their line-up’s are going to be. We are going to write more about those changes and some other things when we know more about them. That’s sure.

Tomorrow our Counter-Strike squad is going to play at Finnish WCG qualifiers in Gaming Center Level 7 at Helsinki. We headed to Helsinki today because their first game starts so early. My journey started when I woke up just 20 minutes before tErppa was going to take me aboard and my backpack wasn’t packed yet so those 20 minutes was pretty hectic for some reason.. Somehow i managed myself to tErppa’s car and we were ready to hit the road. First stop was at Joutsa where we met defcon who came aboard too.

Travelling by road wasn’t the best idea when the day was warm and sun was shining from solid sky. Somehow we found ourselves at Helsinki after sweating few hours in tErppa’s wheeled and seated oven. We left our car somewhere near Helsinki and headed to beer garden by bus just to relax before event. We had little chat about games and laughter for line-up issues and at some point we found Dezbi and SaMZ hanging with us. After few hours we went to eat at some restaurant.

After dinner some of us had plans for afternoon and I decided to go at my grandparent’s place by SaMZ car. During travel we talked few words about qualifiers and some other stuff. Tomorrow is going to be a good but pretty hectic day.

Now it’s time to get some sleep because SaMZ is going to pick me aboard at 9 a.m. Good night and see you tomorrow!

Enjoy the ride

March 28th, 2010

Right before the ESPC I think it’s proper to tell something about our plans. Things have been going fast back and forth and there is no time to even see what’s going on. There isnt enough time for everything, so we have been forced to priorize our tasks. Still our notebooks are full of plans and we are trying to get them done, little by little.

So what’s going on in the organization?

What comes to the content, our accents have been going for visual materia from events. Our hard drives have several hours of videomaterial from lan events and bootcamps, where they are waiting for editing. So you should wait for lots of new videos and what comes to the text content, we are trying to boost them up with some amazing photography. A new videocamera is in “must have list”, so hopefully we will get some funds for that ASAP.

In these past weeks, we’ve been designing our new website and the first raw versions been done. There are still some arguements within management, but the main point is to bring out something fresh and as you know things don’t happen’ in couple of days, so pation is required even though we would like to offer you something more already.

How’s our games going?

I must say that I am feeling privileged that I can play in such a great team. The passions and persistence that glows from our players is infectious. It’s cool to walk home from work knowing that the same people are still swiping their mice and going for the top even though the day before hasn’t gone so well.

On the other hand I am bit sad that we had to change a player after january’s events, but at this moment I can say that our team is more balanced and the team spirit is rising. What comes to our team play and tactics, well.. they need to be whet. There has been lots of progress and our goals are being build up and focused on the coming fall.

On spring and summer our plans is to get as much experience as we can get from finnish tournaments and at the same time to rise our team spirit with RCTIC parties. Our next event, where you can see us will be this weekend at Helsinki. After the upcoming ESPC 2010, our plan is to visit couple of events before fall.

Final Words..

Last week me and SaMZ were driving a long way to see one of our sponsor. While sitting in the car and rolling our thumbs we noticed again that the destination is just a part of the journey. So let’s enjoy the ride with open heart! The road will not end short.
