A small update from WCG qualifiers

July 17th, 2010

Finnish WCG qualifiers are now over for our squad’s part after few tight matches and now I can give some updates from SaMZ’s computer. So more or less heres a few words about todays tournament.

The results were already kind of predicted since FOOZE, the in-game leader of the team, had to pass this event because of his work issues. The one replacing him was copz, so with a few week break from gaming and mix team it is not easy to get a good ripple. In the end we hit the road just to meet the other players and in the same time you get to enjoy a moment of the summer in Helsinki. In its entirety the tournament went on with pretty good vibes though the atmosphere in the venue was kinda insipid.

The results:

RCTIC eSports [9-16] Infernal Gamers
RCTIC eSports [7-16] munkka

The line-up in the tournament:

Henri “tErppa” Väyrynen
Otto “defcon” Takala
Harri “Qad” Savunen
Dino “Dezbi” Singh
Niko “c0pz” Takala

As normally, we got a bunch of pictures and videos on a memory stick from the event but I’m too tired to make a fuss about them today. The plan of the evening would be to go to the beach with atleast SaMZ and possibly Debz and defcon to enjoy the sun and talk about the future. Many have also been hoping for a new video blog so we try to record a few words on the beach. So the organization is little by little rising its head and in the same time we get to prepare for Assembly Summer ’10 which is only under three weeks away!

Now I’m starting to get ready to go to the beach so see you next time and you too spend a nice Saturday evening!

Finnish WCG qualifiers tomorrow!

July 17th, 2010

It’s been quiet around organisation for past two months. People just don’t have time to put effort that much for the organisation during summer vacations and with some work issues. It’s a fact that everybody here in Finland lack motivation for eSports at summer so maybe it’s not just me who doesn’t do anything around gaming.

As you can see, there’s no big news about tournaments and line-up changes in our website  and I’m sad to say that few of our players have left RCTIC because they were going to play at different clan or just quit gaming because of personal reasons. No-one just knows what our teams are going to do with those situations and that’s why we don’t know how things with their line-up’s are going to be. We are going to write more about those changes and some other things when we know more about them. That’s sure.

Tomorrow our Counter-Strike squad is going to play at Finnish WCG qualifiers in Gaming Center Level 7 at Helsinki. We headed to Helsinki today because their first game starts so early. My journey started when I woke up just 20 minutes before tErppa was going to take me aboard and my backpack wasn’t packed yet so those 20 minutes was pretty hectic for some reason.. Somehow i managed myself to tErppa’s car and we were ready to hit the road. First stop was at Joutsa where we met defcon who came aboard too.

Travelling by road wasn’t the best idea when the day was warm and sun was shining from solid sky. Somehow we found ourselves at Helsinki after sweating few hours in tErppa’s wheeled and seated oven. We left our car somewhere near Helsinki and headed to beer garden by bus just to relax before event. We had little chat about games and laughter for line-up issues and at some point we found Dezbi and SaMZ hanging with us. After few hours we went to eat at some restaurant.

After dinner some of us had plans for afternoon and I decided to go at my grandparent’s place by SaMZ car. During travel we talked few words about qualifiers and some other stuff. Tomorrow is going to be a good but pretty hectic day.

Now it’s time to get some sleep because SaMZ is going to pick me aboard at 9 a.m. Good night and see you tomorrow!

RCTIC.cs placed 4th at Solid Mojo!

May 15th, 2010

As in our review of first day at Solid Mojo was mentioned, our Counter-Strike 1.6 team was the only team from our organization who made it throught to playoffs with placing second in their group just after [flag fi] PlayZone.

Today was time for playoffs and first was the semifinals. Our team faced team of [flag fi] eXelong Gaming which contained some famous names in Finnish scene such as Joona “natu” Leppänen and Slaava “Twista” Räsänen. Our team didn’t have much of chances and eXelon took victory by 2-0 score and made it to the grand final while our team was sent into the bronze match. Few hours ago our team played their bronze match where they faced [flag fi] munkka. Munkka overran (16-3) their map choice which was de_train. Our team chose de_inferno and this time it was our team who was likely overrunning as score after two both halfs was 16-7 in favour of our team. Last map and deciding one was de_nuke. Our team managed to start this map on the so called “easier side”, CT’s. However, munkka was giving some hard time and they managed to get a 8-7 lead after first half. Then our team fought back well and was giving some hard time to munkka but after all munkka decided to grap the needed rounds ending the map in score of 16-13. This ment that munkka placed 3rd and our team got 4th placement from the very first lan under our name! Congratulations boys!

Oh and by the way, our Team Fortress 2 player, Ville “robo” Seikkula, took a part in Heroes of Newerth (HoN) 5on5 with his friends. They managed to win this tournament and will receive the prize money of 500€!

RCTIC.cs undergoes changes

March 24th, 2010

A bit over one month ago we decided to bring in a Finnish Counter-Strike 1.6 team of waterloo. Since then they have been playing more or less active. All was fine until team faced some internal problems which caused two players, Toni “chuNk” Saarinen and Jesse “jezi” Nurmi, to go inactive and therefor our three remaining players had to start looking for replacements. After looking for suitable players for a while, our boys found Jukka “JukkaN” Hopeavuori and Henri “tErppa” Väyrynen, who both are former players of Antura.

RCTIC.cs team will be seen in action at upcoming Solid Mojo LAN later this spring.

RCTIC.cs consists of

Rolf “FOOZE” Frid
Jukka “JukkaN” Hopeavuori
Henri “tErppa” Väyrynen
Rami “caqtRr” Valve
Jarno “frieze” Lindholm

RCTIC enters the scene of CS 1.6!

February 8th, 2010

Hello our fellow fans! Once again we have some great news for you guys as we have decided to add one more gaming-team under our wings and this time we are bringing in Counter-Strike 1.6 team! The team we’re adding under our wings is a finnish team which was created around five to six years ago. During that time their lineup have changed few times but with this moment’s lineup they have been playing for few years now. And this team is none other than [flag fi] waterloo! They have been doing great in both, online and offline and we’re really looking forward working with these guys!

Statement by Management member, snd:
“The year 2010 has started with a speed of light for RCTIC eSports club. First was the addition of our Team Fortress 2 team and now is the time to expand our horizon once more with addition of Counter-Strike 1.6 team. The team has everything that we are looking for. They are motivated, potential and all around nice guys. So without further ado I’d like to introduce RCTIC CS!”

Statement by Rami “caqtRr” Valve:
“We are very pleased to join RCTIC eSports! I believe that this organisation is the thing we have been looking for, as RCTIC has the attitude, the style and the professional grip that gives us the much-needed trust and faith – but it also gives us opportunities to accept new chances and the right spirit to challenge i.e. whole Europe. Our team consists of friendships. For example I, frieze and fooze have known each other and played together for seven years and there’s no signs of getting bored with it. We’ve had so much fun and we are constantly looking for new ways to challenge ourselves. I hope and believe that with RCTIC organisation we can do well and be successful, and of course we will try to bring about the same and more by creating us a good reputation and fame. From now on, keeping our minds open.”
