The return of the Ewok

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Good evening everyone.

I am Jan-Erik “furri” Mattsson, AD of RCTIC. I’m 24 years hard working dude and I like doing some graphics. Back in 2008 I was one of RCTIC’s founders. Before that I was in Red-Sky Gaming from where I left because the management wasn’t putting enough efforts to organization and after CMAX folded, some familiar guys came to ask if I had interest to something new business. And then things started to roll and here we are.

Next ESL EMS season is on it’s way

Monday, August 16th, 2010

So, i decided to write a blog about how things are going with our DoD:s team.

As I haven’t written any blogs before I think I should start by giving a little introduction to who I am. So, my name is Joonas Järvinen, I am a 22 year old student from Vaasa. I am one of the founding members of RCTIC, which have been an interesting road this far and hopefuly it just gets better! And I am also leader of RCTIC DoD:S team. Our team has been in RCTIC for longest time, I think we joined RCTIC at march of 2009 or something like that so I think it is pretty respectable (as we really only have changed couple of players) time for a team involved in eSports where people join and quit organizations for like two months. Situation update on the upcoming website

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Hello folks!

I have a small information update about the upcoming website. It’s delayed due my irl commitments and busy schedule during the summer. However I am doing it as fast as I can and we here at RCTIC are trying to bring it out ASAP. But before that, what can you expect from it:

  • New content
  • More video & pictures
  • More blog
  • Fresh look
  • Userfriendly interface
  • Many more.

That’s all for now :) Peace!

A small update from WCG qualifiers

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

Finnish WCG qualifiers are now over for our squad’s part after few tight matches and now I can give some updates from SaMZ’s computer. So more or less heres a few words about todays tournament.

The results were already kind of predicted since FOOZE, the in-game leader of the team, had to pass this event because of his work issues. The one replacing him was copz, so with a few week break from gaming and mix team it is not easy to get a good ripple. In the end we hit the road just to meet the other players and in the same time you get to enjoy a moment of the summer in Helsinki. In its entirety the tournament went on with pretty good vibes though the atmosphere in the venue was kinda insipid.

The results:

RCTIC eSports [9-16] Infernal Gamers
RCTIC eSports [7-16] munkka

The line-up in the tournament:

Henri “tErppa” Väyrynen
Otto “defcon” Takala
Harri “Qad” Savunen
Dino “Dezbi” Singh
Niko “c0pz” Takala

As normally, we got a bunch of pictures and videos on a memory stick from the event but I’m too tired to make a fuss about them today. The plan of the evening would be to go to the beach with atleast SaMZ and possibly Debz and defcon to enjoy the sun and talk about the future. Many have also been hoping for a new video blog so we try to record a few words on the beach. So the organization is little by little rising its head and in the same time we get to prepare for Assembly Summer ‘10 which is only under three weeks away!

Now I’m starting to get ready to go to the beach so see you next time and you too spend a nice Saturday evening!

Finnish WCG qualifiers tomorrow!

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

It’s been quiet around organisation for past two months. People just don’t have time to put effort that much for the organisation during summer vacations and with some work issues. It’s a fact that everybody here in Finland lack motivation for eSports at summer so maybe it’s not just me who doesn’t do anything around gaming.

As you can see, there’s no big news about tournaments and line-up changes in our website  and I’m sad to say that few of our players have left RCTIC because they were going to play at different clan or just quit gaming because of personal reasons. No-one just knows what our teams are going to do with those situations and that’s why we don’t know how things with their line-up’s are going to be. We are going to write more about those changes and some other things when we know more about them. That’s sure.

Tomorrow our Counter-Strike squad is going to play at Finnish WCG qualifiers in Gaming Center Level 7 at Helsinki. We headed to Helsinki today because their first game starts so early. My journey started when I woke up just 20 minutes before tErppa was going to take me aboard and my backpack wasn’t packed yet so those 20 minutes was pretty hectic for some reason.. Somehow i managed myself to tErppa’s car and we were ready to hit the road. First stop was at Joutsa where we met defcon who came aboard too.

Travelling by road wasn’t the best idea when the day was warm and sun was shining from solid sky. Somehow we found ourselves at Helsinki after sweating few hours in tErppa’s wheeled and seated oven. We left our car somewhere near Helsinki and headed to beer garden by bus just to relax before event. We had little chat about games and laughter for line-up issues and at some point we found Dezbi and SaMZ hanging with us. After few hours we went to eat at some restaurant.

After dinner some of us had plans for afternoon and I decided to go at my grandparent’s place by SaMZ car. During travel we talked few words about qualifiers and some other stuff. Tomorrow is going to be a good but pretty hectic day.

Now it’s time to get some sleep because SaMZ is going to pick me aboard at 9 a.m. Good night and see you tomorrow!

Last ”holiday”

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

So, it’s been couple of weeks since my last blogging and I decided to time this one just before my “holiday” ends. Actually it haven’t been a real “holiday” for me as I’ve just been workless since February.

But how’s things going with eSports? Well, as usually during summer it’s always a bit quiet in Finland as people are having their summer holidays and so on. I haven’t really had any motivation lately to do much of news postings to Gaming.fi website, only did some coverage about this year’s ESWC event and one Finnish Counter-Strike 1.6 team. I haven’t even done any blogs lately here at our sites since I really haven’t had anything to write about. But now as my spare time is coming to end I decided to write something.

So, I have been on “holiday” during the whole spring and this summer until this day. But then, why does free time come to it’s end? Well, lets say that same reason as some Finnish top CS 1.6 teams have faced some changes, players are going to do their part in the military service. Yes, I’m going to army also tomorrow.. It’s quite nice since there’s quite much of my ex-class/schoolmates and other irl-mates going at same time. There’s also one other good thing besides that. The place where I’m going to do my service is located here at city where I live in. The gates of army’s venue are just like 2 kilometers away from my home, which is really nice. Not long way to home during the holidays from army.

Okey, that’s enough for this time. Peace for now and enjoy the summer and nice weather!

What’s up everyone who decided to read this piece of pretty much anything that comes to mind? Well I’ve been super busy with work, irl and upcoming RCTIC website so I haven’t had the time to write anything new for a while. But now I’m here and going to blog! (more…)

TF2 TEAM UPDATEZ

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

Well, let me introduce myself first, Im Santeri “SHU” “Valkeejärvi. I started online gaming 2006 fall. I started as heavy public cs 1.6 gamer, after I realize that counter strike 1.6 was shit game. Then I bought Counter Strike: Source and played publics like six months. Then I found 5v5 gameform. (And also the little ones). I started playing many of clanbase matches in a day. For a while I played just with my friends and then turned to serious  clanbase gaming! With SAmZ and couple of my irl friends we started our serious-clanbase journey. Nowdays when I’m back in online gaming (thx to JackieBoy), I’m playing medic in RCTIC team fortress 2 team. (more…)
